Early Spring Update!

As we wait for the warmer spring weather, I want to reflect on our accomplishments in the Mashpee Public Schools. We have several initiatives this year where we are seeing significant progress. First, the district has refreshed and revamped our Multi-Tiered System of Support. This effort includes using progress monitoring, specific planned interventions to close achievement gaps, and reteaching to ensure students are improving. Another area of emphasis has been our communication protocols. We have streamlined and set up consistent communication methods to ensure predictable and consistent communication. The last area of emphasis is the ongoing work to establish positive learning environments in our schools. The Kenneth C. Coombs School and the Quashnet School have been working on achieving the prestigious “No Place for Hate” designation again this year, a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and respect.

ELA MCAS Week Concluded

I want to express my sincere gratitude to our entire school community for approaching ELA MCAS week with both seriousness and enthusiasm. Your support made a tremendous difference! Our attendance was exceptional throughout the week, with students arriving well-rested and focused on Tuesday and Thursday for their tests. On Wednesday, we enjoyed two wonderful whole-school events that strengthened our school culture and provided a needed break between testing days.

Students vs Staff Hockey Game

For the first time since 2015, our students emerged victorious in the annual Student vs. Staff hockey game! The student team's exceptional performance was anchored by goalkeeper Patrick L., who maintained an impressive shutout for 45 minutes, only conceding a goal in the final 5 minutes of play.
